One has to admire Eden Brothers customer service. We have a dozen reviews of this seed and apparently not a single seed germinated. Batting a little less than a thousand. Eden Brothers provided each reviewer with a canned response, some of them saying that they were glad they were able to resolve the issue to the customer’s satisfaction. One wonders what form the resolution took. I also purchased a packet and the accompanying photo shows my results after nursing the seeds for four months. Eden Brothers, it really looks like you don’t actually give a damn if none of your seeds sprout. Do better!

Zone 4-5 clay soil thats been amended. I saw the reviews and decided to gamble on getting these to germinate. I was not successful.

They can be slower and a bit more particular to germinate than many annual flowers. They are generally grown as a short-lived perennial (and may also behave as a biennial in some climates). It often produces a rosette of foliage in its first year before blooming the following season, although under favorable growing conditions it may flower the first year if started early. After blooming, it readily self-seeds, allowing it to persist in the garden for many years even though individual plants may only live a few seasons. The seeds generally perform best when surface sown or only lightly covered, as light helps encourage germination, and they benefit from consistently moist, well-drained soil while establishing. Even in amended clay soil, excessive moisture or soil crusting can make emergence more difficult. Patience is also important, as germination can sometimes be slower than expected. We are pleased we had the opportunity to provide a resolution. We stand behind our products and appreciate you giving us the opportunity to help. I saw the reviews saying these germinated poorly so I decided to cold stratify them for 6 weeks in my refrigerator in a baggie with damp perlite. I just took a look and they have germinated in the refrigerator, so they're going into a tray with coc peat tomorrow. These are going to look good in my gardens!
Im glad i came and looked at these again. I bought a pack in early spring last year. I planted them all in my garden with tons of other flower varieties. None germinated. Usually i just assume it wqs my fault but im seeing all the reviews saying the same thing. I love eden bros and would love to get another pack to try again. Could you guys help me out?

Experienced gardner with a large greenhouse. NO germination. I'd like a refund. Disappointing, but this is the first seed in 3 years from Eden that didn't germinate.

I planted half the packet of seeds as instructed on the package. No germination. I read this seed may be helped with cold stratification so tried that with the other half. I did not get one seed to germinate.

I saw the reviews on these and I knew they weren't working for everyone but I bought some anyway and the reviews are correct. They do not germinate. I already knew they wouldn't so im not too disappointed. I was just hopeful they would work for me lol

Definitely not recommended. All my other Eden seeds (Cypress Vine, Tiny Tom tomatoes, Pompom asters) are coming up nicely but its been over four weeks now and absolutely no signs of life for the Arkwright's Campion. Very disappointing.

I am disappointed that like many others I didn't read the reviews before I purchased. This seed has not germinated no matter what I have done. I recommend not buying it!

I was really looking forward to having this plant in my garden but can’t seem to get any to germinate. Tried and outdoor small greenhouse as well as indoor pots and then outdoor pots… just won’t work!

Sowed inside under grow lights 5/8, 1/2 packet in 3 inch fiber pots. After 21 days watering with spray bottle no sprouts. Lights were on timer 12/12.

Purchased the seeds in January 2024 & planted indoors late February. Followed all directions, placed under grow lights, used spray bottle to water. To date no germination. Have been placing potted seeds outside, direct sun, the past few days with temps in the 60-70’s, not seeing anything happening. So excited when I had found this beauty & truly gave extra attention to. Very disappointed it isn’t sprouting.

Coated seed, small as a pin head, surface sow, light required for germination... Started 25 cells with 50 seeds in the greenhouse 7 weeks ago under timed lights on/off 16/8. With a 7-21 day germination rate and no sprouts, I conclude this hybrid is a dud. Very disappointing.
