Planted these in peat pots with seed starting mix, on heat mats and under grow lights 2 months ago. They have not germinated. Packet say 1-3 months to germinate, but at this point I would be amazed if the seeds ever germinate.

Store owner replied: Hello hildrele. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that your Black Bat Flower seeds have not yet germinated. We understand how discouraging that is, especially after carefully following the planting instructions and patiently waiting. Black bat flower are best suited for USDA zones 9B through 11. These are among the most challenging ornamental plants to grow from seed. Although the expected germination period is typically 1–3 months, some seeds can take even longer under ideal conditions. Maintaining temperatures around 80–85°F, high humidity, and consistently moist growing media is important throughout the process. Peat pots can also dry out more quickly than plastic containers, making it more difficult to maintain the steady moisture these seeds require. We are glad we had the opportunity to provide a resolution and appreciate your willingness to continue giving the seeds a chance. We hope they still surprise you with successful germination, and we truly appreciate you giving us the opportunity to help!

Followed all of the directions and I didn't have a single one germinate. Unfortunate as I was very excited for these! They look like a beautiful plant.

Store owner replied: Hello David. Thank you for sharing your experience with these seeds. We are sorry to hear that none of the seeds germinated, especially when you were so excited to grow them. They can be a bit challenging to start from seed, even for experienced gardeners, as they require consistently warm temperatures, high humidity, and evenly moist soil throughout a sometimes lengthy germination period. In some cases, seeds may take several weeks or even months to emerge. Because they are tropical plants, bright indirect light is generally preferred during germination and early growth rather than intense direct sun. We previously reached out but have not yet heard back. If you would still like assistance, please reply to the original email or contact our customer service team so we can continue helping. We always stand behind our seeds and want our customers to have success with these fascinating plants!

Tried planting the seeds with correct soil, heat mat, water and sun requirements but no sprouts have emerged and it’s been a month

I thought it was just me!!! I bought 2 because I was so excited. The first batch did not germinate, so I tried the second. Nothing. I thought perhaps I did something wrong. Now, I know the seeds were complete duds.

I knew this seeds would be a challenge but I tried 3 different times to get them to germinate with zero luck. Each time I changed one small element and nothing. I see others had the same issue. This is my first time buying from Eden that not a single seed germinated.

I soaked the seeds as suggested for 24 hours. I have kept the soil damp for about 6 weeks now & not one seed has sprouted.
