Thriving in full sun, the two to three inch blooms emit a striking blue hue that is simply stunning when planted in groups or large masses.

I received two with one immediately dying. The second one has grown but seems to be stunted. Still no flower either

Sea Holly Roots - Blue Star

Store owner replied: Hello Tim W. Thank you for sharing your experience with our Sea Holly Roots. We’re sorry one root was lost, and the other has remained smaller than expected. Sea Holly prefers full sun and very well-draining soil, and newly planted roots can be sensitive to excess moisture. With an early June planting in Zone 7, summer heat can also arrive before the roots are fully established. The surviving plant may spend its first season developing its root system rather than flowering, so leaving healthy growth in place to overwinter may lead to stronger growth and blooms next season. We are glad we were able to provide a resolution and hope your remaining Sea Holly rewards your patience next year!
