Customer photo review of Geum Roots - Totally Tangerine

the roots looked dead on arrival. Planted them and no new growth x 1 week, not even a root. Reached out to customer service and they replied 11 days later stating I should leave them in the ground for longer, but the roots were never replanted, so if they weren't dead to begin with, they are now. Terrible customer service. Do not buy from this company.

    Geum Roots - Totally Tangerine

Store owner replied: Hello tirian1050. Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your experience and the frustration caused by the delay in our response! Your inquiry came during the busiest time of our year, when our customer service team was experiencing unusually high message volumes, but we understand how disappointing it was to wait for assistance. Many dormant bare roots can appear dark, woody, or inactive upon arrival while still being viable, and depending on the variety, it is not uncommon for them to take several weeks to establish before showing visible signs of growth. For that reason, our team recommended allowing additional time before determining whether the roots were successful. That said, we are glad we were able to connect with you directly and provide a resolution that addressed your concerns. We appreciate your patience, your feedback, and the opportunity to make things right!

These should have come up by now. Following planting instructions and nothing. Pushes back soil to find dead clumps.

    Geum Roots - Totally Tangerine

Store owner replied: Hello Deb Elle. Thank you for your review for us. Geum can sometimes be slow to establish, and factors such as excessive moisture, poor drainage, heavy soils, or fluctuating temperatures can affect newly planted roots. These plants generally perform best in well-drained soil with consistent moisture while they are becoming established, as overly wet conditions can sometimes lead to crown or root decline. We are glad we were able to connect with you directly and provide a resolution. At Eden Brothers, we stand behind our products and are always here to help when issues arise. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and giving us the opportunity to make things right!

Nothing grew of the 8 I purchased.

    Geum Roots - Totally Tangerine

Store owner replied: Hello Audrey R. Thank you for taking the time to write-in about your experience. We are sorry that none of your Totally Tangerine Geum roots established, and we understand how disappointing it is. Geum is a cool-season perennial that generally establishes best during periods of mild weather, and in Zone 8, temperatures can sometimes rise quickly after spring planting, placing additional stress on newly planted roots before they have developed a strong root system. Consistent moisture during establishment is important, but the soil should also drain well, as prolonged wet conditions can contribute to root or crown rot, while excessive heat or allowing newly planted roots to dry out can reduce establishment. We are glad we had the opportunity to work with you and provide a resolution. We stand behind our products and our Grow Guarantee and appreciate the chance to help when a planting doesn't perform as either of us hoped!
