I've grown lots of cosmos seeds but these are showing up very wimpy in my garden. Tiny flowers and the plants are barely a foot tall. I pinched as they were growing and have them in full sun. Maybe they will get heartier as the season goes on but for now they are a disappointment. On the plus side the color is very accurate to the photo

We are sorry to hear that your these cosmos haven't been as vigorous as the other cosmos varieties you're growing, although we are glad the beautiful color has been true to what you expected. Xsenia is naturally a more compact cosmos than many of the taller varieties, so it may not reach the same height or produce flowers as large as some other cosmos. Even so, growing conditions can influence its overall vigor and bloom size. Extended heat, inconsistent moisture, crowding, or other environmental stress can result in shorter plants and smaller flowers, while overly rich or high-nitrogen soil can encourage foliage without improving flowering. Pinching young plants, as you did, can encourage branching and additional blooms as the plants mature, so they may continue filling out as the season progresses. We appreciate the helpful comparison with your other Eden Brothers cosmos and are glad we had the opportunity to provide a resolution.
