I planted these in brand new beds in the 2025 growing season, pulled them up for winter, and recently began pre sprouting them. One tuber from this mix one of the dinner plates) and one from the ball and decorative mix are showing signs of gall (photos attached), as are several tubers I purchased from EB this year.
I’m lucky I planted in beds but, because they were shipped in shared baggies, I’ll need to throw all of them out. I contacted customer service 3 times and they haven’t replied.
Avoid my mistake. Given the irresponsible growing practices that are clearly leading to the spread of gall, in addition to the unresponsive customer service, I cannot recommend purchasing from here.
If you love dahlias, buy from small, species-specific growers who are open about their hygiene practices (plenty of online resources listing these types of growers).

Crown gall became much more prevalent throughout the dahlia industry several years ago, and because it can be present internally, it is not always detectable through visual inspection alone. Even so, we work diligently each season with our field growers to help minimize the risk through strict quality standards and careful inspection of the tubers we receive. These dahlias are so beautiful! They grow huge the peach one in 9 inches across!
The only reason I gave this blend a 4/5 is because only 4/5 of the bulbs I ordered ended up taking off. They are truly beautiful though. When I applied fertilizer on the soil around the base of the plant they really took off. Waiting on the last one to bloom now!
I’m growing flowers for my September wedding. After careful planning, I selected the Antique Blush mix to compliment my other flowers. I was quite disappointed when they started to bloom. I did not receive Sam Hopkins, Belle of Barmera, or Fairway Spur. All of the plants are identical, some sort of mystery ball/pompon dahlia.

My daughter-in-law has a green thumb and loves growing things. Her favorite flower is the dahlia. She sent photos of the dahlias she grew and her happiness made me happy! Unfortunately I cannot comment on the process as we live in different states. But the results were fabulous!
Hi! Thrilled with my first dahlias! I planted 3 Opposites Attract. The burgundy were darling pompoms. I had no Blush fflowers on any of the 3 plantings.

This is the second year I have bought this collection, last year I had some blooms, this year I had a total of 5 blooms. Then when I dug up the tubers for fall storage I discovered leaf and crown gal.

I planted the tubers and they grew about 12 inches when they became a snack for the local fauna. So my plants took longer to bloom. Once they did, they were prolific. I give just 4/5 because I only received two different flowers and not three. I received 4 the Belle of Barmera and 1 Sam Hopkins. No Fairway Spur.
I usually buy dahlias from Eden brothers and they are splendid. This time only one came up. I’m very experienced with dahlias and one may not come up but having 4 not coming up is a disappointment. I received dead dry tubers, so might need to find a new dahlia supplier.

Unfortunately, the mix packs are not labeled which makes planning difficult. As with the other mix packs, and the lack of labels on the tubers made it difficult to ensure you get what you purchased.

These dahlias grew into healthy beautiful plants with such striking flowers. They make me look like I am an accomplished gardener which I am not. They actually look like the pictures shown online. It is late in fall and I still have gorgeous flowers to adorn the house and garden.
