Impatiens Seeds - Beacon Bright Red FAQs

Is Beacon Bright Red Impatiens resistant to animals or disease?

Beacon Bright Red Impatiens shows resistance to Impatiens Downy Mildew, meaning it's less susceptible to these under normal growing conditions — though resistant isn't a guarantee against them in every case.

I started these seeds indoors on March 18. Very poor germination rate. It is now August 17 and they are barely ready to transplant out of the original cell with only half germinating. All of the other hundreds of flowers I did this year with the same exact methods are huge and in full summer bloom. (Ignore the lettuce that snuck in one of the cells, lol).

Customer photo review of Impatiens Seeds - Beacon Bright Red

I purchased Beacon impatiens from a grower but the plants were very leggy at about 10” tall with a few flowers on the very top. I planted n snipped about an inch to 1 1/2” off. Two weeks later they were very nice. With in another 2 weeks they looked like they were 2 months in! I was skeptical but they amazed. Don't fear tall leggy Beacons as they will out grow those short impatiens by leaps n bounds! The second batch I purchased somewhere else had nice, full SHORT impatiens. They don’t even begin to compare. I was shocked at the results But pleasantly pleased!

I have started thousands of seeds and i did have a single one germinate.

Impatiens Seeds - Beacon Bright Red

Store owner replied: Hello Mallory. Thank you for sharing your feedback on this seed variety. We’re sorry to hear that none of the seeds germinated, as that can certainly be frustrating! Some impatiens varieties, especially hybrid types, can be a bit delicate during the germination stage and often benefit from steady warmth, consistent moisture, and plenty of light when starting. We’re glad we were able to provide a resolution and appreciate you giving this variety a try. We always stand behind our seeds and are happy to help if you need support along the way this season!
