Also known as Cardinal Flower, this North American native wildflower is a must-grow for your perennial garden or pollinator patch. This scarlet-flowered cultivar’s common name references the red vestments worn by cardinals in the Catholic Church. The divine contrast between blood-red blooms and dark bronze foliage sanctifies any landscape, drawing hummingbirds and other pollinators to drink from the nectar-rich blooms. Two feet tall at most, Scarlet Bronze Leaf lobelia is perfect for flower beds, borders, and even containers.

  • • Better branching and earlier to flower than other varieties
  • • Shade tolerant and thrives in wet areas
  • • Fragrant flowers attract pollinators but deter deer

    Not one germinated

Lobelia Seeds - Scarlet Bronze Leaf

Store owner replied: Hello Lani. Thank you again for sharing your experience with us, and we are glad we were able to provide a resolution for you. Lobelia can occasionally be slower or more uneven to germinate than some other flower varieties, particularly if moisture levels fluctuate or the seeds are planted too deeply. Since the seeds are very fine, they generally do best when lightly pressed onto the soil surface and kept consistently moist during germination. We truly appreciate your feedback and understanding. We always stand behind our products and are happy to continue offering planting tips and support to help encourage better success with future plantings!

There was a 0% germination rate on these seeds. I should have read other reviews before purchasing since it looks like that is a common theme.

Lobelia Seeds - Scarlet Bronze Leaf

Store owner replied: Hello Katie. Thank you for your feedback, and we’re glad we were able to provide a resolution for you. These can sometimes be a bit particular during germination and generally performs best when surface sown rather than covered, as the seeds need light to germinate properly. They also prefer evenly moist conditions with cooler temperatures around 65–70°F, and warmer or fluctuating temperatures can sometimes reduce germination rates or lead to weaker seedlings. We do routinely retest our seeds for quality and germination standards, and we truly appreciate customers sharing their experiences with us. We’re always happy to help with planting guidance and troubleshooting to support the best possible success with your seeds!

I loved these seeds and wanted them to grow but unfortunately, I've had only 1 seed out of the whole pack germinate and even that one isn't doing the greatest. It's unfortunate because most seeds I've bought from eden brothers have grown beautifully. I've had issues with a couple of others too but 95% of them have done great. Im contemplating buying some more to see if it is my error or if it's the seed quality. I haven't decided yet
