Customer photo review of Peony Roots - Bowl of Cream

I don’t know if this is common but I received my bowl of cream root today and it only had one eye. That is so incredibly disappointing since it costs almost $40!

I had bought 2 roots. The first time I figured it was my mistake about how I planted it because it didn't grow. I bought a second one and I followed the directions and even watched videos online about growing it. The plant has not grown at all.e

Store owner replied: Hello Amanda. We are very sorry to hear about your experience, especially after giving it a second try. That’s certainly not the result we want for our customers. In Zone 6, fall planting is typically preferred, as it allows roots to establish over winter, but even then, peonies can sometimes be slow to emerge, particularly in their first season. One of the most important factors is planting depth, with the peony “eyes” that should be placed just 1–2 inches below the soil surface, as planting too deeply can prevent growth altogether. They also require well-drained soil and full sun, and may take time to settle in before producing visible growth. We’ve attempted to reach out but haven’t heard back, and we’d really appreciate the opportunity to help both with a resolution and any planting guidance that may improve success. Please feel free to reply to our emails or contact our customer support team directly at 855-440-2929, so we can assist you further and make this right!
