Soapwort Seeds - Rock Soapwort
Store owner replied: Hello Deb L. Thank you for sharing your review. We understand the disappointment of growing these through its first season without seeing any flowers, but there may still be a beautiful display ahead. This is a perennial, and plants started from seed may spend their first year establishing roots and low-growing foliage rather than blooming. For future growers, a sunny location with well-draining soil is ideal, and this is one perennial that doesn't need rich soil or heavy fertilization, which can encourage foliage at the expense of flowers. If the plants are healthy, we recommend leaving them in place and giving them another season, as established plants can produce a much fuller floral display in their second year. We appreciate you continuing to share your garden experiences with us, and we hope these plants reward your patience with plenty of color next season!
I was excited for the purplish color pictured, unfortunately mine are blooming white. They were an easy direct sow, and they really grow in anything. I love the leaf structure, just really bummed about the color.

Soapwort Seeds - Rock Soapwort
Store owner replied: Hello Sara. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that your Rock Soapwort bloomed white instead of the purplish color you were expecting. We understand how disappointing that is, especially when you selected this variety for its unique bloom color. We are glad to hear the seeds were easy to direct sow and that the plants established well. Since the bloom color did not match the expected variety, we've shared your report with our Quality Control team for further investigation. We also reached out by email to offer a resolution but haven't heard back from you. We'd still be happy to help, so please reply to our original email if you'd like to discuss the resolution options available. We stand behind our products and appreciate you bringing this to our attention!
I planted a flat of these indoors and they germinated well. Kept them inside for a couple months and they never grew much past the first set of leaves. I hardened them off and planted outside and they died. Maybe I didn’t keep them watered enough right after they went in the ground.

Soapwort Seeds - Rock Soapwort
Store owner replied: Hello Paulina W. Thank you for your review. We were glad to hear that your Rock Soapwort seeds germinated well, though we are sorry the seedlings did not thrive after transplanting! Rock Soapwort can be slow to grow beyond the first set of leaves as it develops its root system. After transplanting, young plants need consistent moisture while they establish, and even a brief period of drying out can sometimes lead to transplant stress. Gradual hardening off, well-drained soil, and keeping the soil evenly moist for the first few weeks can all help improve success. We are happy we were able to connect with you directly, provide additional growing guidance, and offer a resolution. Once established, Rock Soapwort is generally quite hardy and drought tolerant. Thank you for your feedback and for giving us the opportunity to help!
Started them indoors, they were pretty delicate for about a month. Started getting leggy, so I pinched them off and they got stronger and bushier. Just transplanted them outside 2 days ago and they look happy..Doubt they will flower this year.
