Bought some of these back in spring to throw out in a pair of beds around some Black Diamond crepe myrtles, for color contrast. Hot and dry all summer, these seeds were basically neglected (watered a few times, given some fertilizer maybe twice all season). These little buggers took hold and bloomed like crazy - yellows and oranges and the prettiest rust color. Then, for added bonus, when things were starting to die down around August I noticed they'd self-seeded, and the beds were full of even more baby Cosmos. Now, it's November 1, and the beds are once again full of yellows and oranges, with basically zero effort on my part beyond opening a few packets of seeds and sprinkling them out. Definitely grew better than the other cosmos I had potted (which weren't this variety), and I'm hoping that the mixed Cosmos I put out in a section of the yard that I don't want to mow (with luck, we'll get a cosmos meadow) grow even half as nicely as these have. They're great.
