My first time growing tulips and out of 10 bulbs 4 sprouted and 2 bloomed. Kind of sad not many bloomed but going to try again next year.

Store owner replied: Hello Sean. Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear some of your tulips sprouted, though we understand how disappointing it is when not all of them perform as expected. In warmer climates like Zone 9, tulips can be more challenging, as they require a consistent period of cold temperatures to properly develop and bloom. Without enough natural winter chill, germination and flowering can be reduced. To improve results next season, many gardeners in warmer zones choose to pre-chill bulbs in the refrigerator for 10–14 weeks (keeping them away from fruits) before planting, and then plant them in well-drained soil during the coolest part of the season. We’re glad we were able to provide a resolution and appreciate you giving them another try!

I planted these in the fall and they came out but they are not as pictured. Stunning color but not the shape I wanted.

Customer photo review of Tulip Bulbs - Merlot Melody Mix

They're all very pretty and all the bulbs seem to have come up, but they're not exactly what was advertised in the mix. 2/4 types accurate as described. The lily shaped and light pink ones are lovely, but unexpected. Next time I will order individual types.
