Easy to grow and maintain, enjoy bold, white, ball-shaped flowers that produce small, golden stars that encircle the center as the flower matures. Is Profusion Double White Zinnia resistant to animals or disease?
Profusion Double White Zinnia shows resistance to Highly Powdery Mildew and Mildew, meaning it's less susceptible to these under normal growing conditions — though resistant isn't a guarantee against them in every case.
I was a bit skeptical based on some reviews on bad germination but I did not have that experience. I started indoors in 2-inch soil blocks as I wanted early blooms for a potted plant. They did take about an extra week to germinate compared to the regular zinnias but I still got 9/10 germination.
First bloom was about 60 days after planting and second photo is 2 weeks after that. Third photo shows them still thriving in the pot 114 days later (plus a few on the side I had picked for a little bud vase) Long vase life but short stems so not an ideal cut flower.
Time Stamps:
Seeds sowed in soil blocks 3/14/26 (not pictured, indoors)
First Bloom 5/12/26 (indoors)
Fully blooming 5/25/26 and 7/6/25 (outdoors zone 5b)
I started these seeds in the basement several weeks ago and had very poor germination. The seedlings that did come up were pathetic, tiny, and yellow. I started several other dwarf zinnia varieties at the same time and all of them are healthy and productive, but these were sad if they even came up at all

Hello Jamie. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review! We are sorry to hear about your experience with these zinnias. Profusion types can be a bit more sensitive early on and tend to do best with warm soil, strong light, and lightly moist, well-drained soil. Lower light or excess moisture can sometimes lead to weak or pale seedlings like you described. We have tried reaching out but haven’t heard back, and we’d really love the opportunity to help make this right. Please reply to our emails or contact our customer support team at 855-440-2929, so we can assist you further. We stand behind our products and want to support your success in the garden!
I sow them in seed tray indoors. All the seeds germinated. The quality seems reliable. Waiting for the blooms now. Happy so far.
I’m an avid gardener and get difficult things to germinate, including strawberries from seed but I tried 3 times to get these to germinate and they never did!

Hello Destiny. Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating this must have been and not what we want for our customers. Zinnias generally germinate readily when provided warm conditions, with seeds sown about 1/4 inch deep and kept consistently moist but not saturated. Cool or overly wet growing media can interfere with germination, while allowing the medium to dry during this stage can also affect emergence. However, after three unsuccessful attempts, we certainly understand why you were concerned about this particular packet. We’re glad our Customer Care team was able to address the experience and provide a resolution. We appreciate the opportunity to stand behind our products and hope your next zinnia planting delivers the strong seedlings and beautiful white blooms you originally had planned for your garden!
I purchased 2 packs. I wanted to grow them for my wedding. I’m not sure why, but out of over 20 different seed varieties I bought this season, these had the lowest germination rate. I only got 1 plant out of two whole packs. I should’ve read the reviews first but they are so pretty maybe one plant will be worth it. Hoping they fix this issue!

Hello Jenni Pirmann. Thank you for your review and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! We are sorry to hear about your experience, especially with such low germination. This product occasionally comes coated, depending on our seed distributor. Profusion zinnias are sometimes pelleted seeds, which makes them easier to handle but a bit less forgiving, as they need consistent moisture to fully break down the coating. Starting with moist soil, watering gently, and keeping even moisture (without drying out) is key, along with proper depth. They should only be lightly covered or pressed into the surface. Our team is working on getting this information posted on the variety page, so everyone can grow with success. Thank you for allowing us to resolve this and remember we are here anytime you need support for a successful growing experience!
I planted these in a few different areas at my farm and was disappointed to only have two plants grow. They were very short and only had one row of petals.
The profusion double white were strong, beautiful zinnias. We were very impressed with these. Used them as mounding ground cover. We will order these again!

These are really cute flowers. I planted them directly in the ground and they grew and bloomed beautifully.
I’ve purchased other zinnias from Eden Brothers before and they did well last year. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend these. NONE of these germinated. Very disappointing and a waste of money and effort.

Very disappointed, zero germination. As an experienced gardener, I don't expect 100% germination, but 0 is unacceptable.

Not a single seedling from this profusion double variety! Zahara starlight germinated beautifully though, in the same tray.

I was disappointed in there only being 25 seeds in a pack, but then I was dismayed that only 6 seeds germinated. In my plantings of other zinnias on the same day and same conditions I had 100% germination so I can only attribute the failure to those seeds .
Direct sowed and planted a little later in the season than I would have liked. They are coming on strong and the plants are very healthy and happy. These little darlings would be great for edging.
I was very disappointed with these. Out of 36 seeds planted in my trays, literally only 1 germinated. I am an experienced gardener so I was quite shocked by this as I had never seen such a low germination rate for any seeds I’ve planted before. It makes me wonder if these seeds are older/not fresh, or maybe I just got a bad batch.
